Six new tyres were bought: Michelin 9.00 x 16 XS. This is a sand tyre.

The Michelins are about 8 cm higher than the original Bargrips. They give a much more comfortable ride and feel much saver on a wet road.
The rims were sandblasted, painted with a zinc primer and finished in the colour of the car.
Two spare tyres were connected on the back doors. On the inside and outside of the doors a plate of aluminium was connected for reinforcement.
The door leaver was turned 90 degrees otherwise it would be behind the spare tyre and impossible to use. From the bumperettes the top 5 cm were cut off because it was in the way of the tyres.
